Who We Are

Locally Owned. Purposefully Built. Passionately Committed.

At Leader of the Pack Doggie Daycare, our work is rooted in experience, love for dogs, and an unwavering commitment to professional care. Founded by lifelong dog owner Mary Thomson, our team provides a safe, structured environment where dogs thrive, clients feel informed, and every interaction reflects the trust our community has placed in us.

Our Story

Leader of the Pack Doggie Daycare was founded in 2016 by Mary Thomson, a lifelong dog owner with a special love for German Shepherds and a deep understanding of canine behavior. Surrounded by dogs her entire life, Mary set out to create a daycare that provided more than just a place to play. She envisioned a structured, professional environment where dogs would be grouped thoughtfully, cared for attentively, and treated like family. From the beginning, her focus was on safety, consistency, and honest communication with every client.

As word spread, Leader of the Pack quickly became a trusted name in the Sun Prairie area. In response to growing demand, Mary opened a purpose-built facility in summer 2022, located directly across from the Sun Prairie Dog Park. Designed from the ground up with canine needs in mind, the new facility features expansive outdoor play areas, climate-controlled indoor rooms, and personalized enrichment options. Today, the business remains rooted in Mary’s original mission: to provide exceptional care through structure, compassion, and professional oversight.
